Half-Term Holidays - Do you client's have sufficient Travel Cover?
As travel restrictions are lifted and there is more confidence and an increase in holiday bookings, you need to ensure that you have good travel insurance to protect your holiday and yourself.
So, why should you buy travel insurance when going on holiday?
According to statistics, Pre-Covid, around 21% of people from the UK travelled abroad uninsured. 28% of Brits said that travelling without travel insurance is a risk they were willing to take.
18-34 are the most likely to travel uninsured, with 38-40% travelling without insurance.
There is the age old saying of ‘accidents happen’ and travel insurance is there for “Peace of mind” should the worst happen when you are on holiday.
Average medical claims pre-covid were around £1,300, however it is not uncommon to rack up thousands of pounds in medical expenses when travelling. The USA has a notoriously expensive healthcare system, and it does not come as any surprise that some of the biggest claims are by Brits visiting the USA. Such as…
- £760,000 in the US for a stroke and air ambulance repat.
- £300,000 in US for a traveller who fell off his bicycle and required treatment for a brain haemorrhage and broken shoulder.
Our BIBA endorsed Travel+ schemes provide a very high standard of cover including claims related to Covid-19.
In terms of Covid-19 cover, we do offer cover for this as standard for insureds who contract the virus whilst on holiday:

- Medical Expenses including repatriation back to the UK

- Room confinement benefit of £30 per day up to a maximum of £300
