Heatwave boosts sales of caravans and motorhomes
The prolonged summer heatwave has been great news for the caravan industry with many dealerships across the country reporting a huge uplift in sales of touring caravans and motorhomes over the same period last year, some by as much as 40%.
And there is an added bonus, the real benefit of the hot weather may not be seen until next year. Because holidaymakers have enjoyed themselves so much this year by taking a staycation during the heatwave, there could be an increased likelihood of them wanting to spend their holiday here again next summer and choosing to invest in a touring caravan, motorhome or caravan holiday home provides the chance to get away for a break any time the weather is right.
Staycations are also set to become increasingly popular due to Brexit if industry experts are believed, the reason – greater uncertainty and the potential for even longer delays at airports and ports due to customs checks.
Good news then for Brokers who offer caravan insurance as part of their product portfolio.
